Hi, I’m Kirstie,the owner and founder of K-APPAREL.

I grew up in Port Elizabeth and studied a BSC degree at Rhodes university.

After my studies, I decided to have a gap year in Europe, where I lived in the Czech republic for a year, and travelled as much as I could.

At Rhodes, I used to sew and sell my clothing on instagram as a side hobby, but after traveling and seeing the high, funky fashion offered in European thrift shops and local boutiques, I was inspired to let my creative juices flow and create a brand of my own as soon as I arrived back home.

I wanted to create a brand that is:

1- Unique and different from anything found in stores.

2- A slow fashioned brand that is sustainable, ethically made, and focuses on supporting our local South African community.

3- A brand that recycles and re- uses our fabric and strays away from waste.

4- A brand that creates comfy, slimming clothing with an exciting edge that differentiates you from others.

My mission was clear: To create designs that were missing from South African stores, with a focus on color and texture that appealed to both men and women.

I started K-APPAREL in 2021 , and today, we are more than just a brand. We are a slow fashion revolution, operating out of our very own factory. Every piece we create is a testament to our journey, from a hobbyist sewer to a full-fledged fashion designer.

Our designs are a blend of comfort and style, catering to the everyday individual as well as the unique party enthusiast.

We wear our South African heritage with pride. Every stitch, every fabric, and every design is a shoutout to our roots.
