INTRODUCING SOUTHBOUND

INTRODUCING SOUTHBOUND

Introducing southbound: Our sister brand to

K-APPAREL.

At K-APPAREL, we’ve always believed in creating clothing that is locally made, trendy and comfortable. Piece that have a cute colour or textured twist.

After  three years, and the expansion of our pieces, our SA Jersey was born.

What started as a cool idea, grew into something much bigger. The response was overwhelming and we couldn’t keep up with orders.

That’s when we knew, the jersey and idea deserved its own space, as the vision we had for the SA apparel no longer worked under the niche of K-APPAREL.

WHY WE CREATED southbound:

Introducing southbound, our second brand, born from the desire to celebrate South Africa, through producing items that are size and age inclusive. A brand that can spread the pride that only us South Africans will understand.

We wanted to build something that:

  • Focuses specifically on South African identity.
  • Is more size inclusive and accessible across all ages.
  • Allows us to explore a more niche, proudly local aesthetic
  • Expands beyond jerseys into pieces that South Africans genuinely love to wear.

Rather than limiting this vision within K-APPAREL, we chose to give it room to grow into something bigger, clearer, and more intentional.

WHY THE NAME “southbound”

The name southbound is more than just a direction; t’s a feeling.

It represents being drawn home to something familiar, meaningful, and proudly ours.

Whether you’re traveling, living abroad, or right here at home, being southbound is about the connection we have to South Africa, its people, our gees, culture and identity.

ROOTED IN SOUTH AFRICA

At its core, southbound is a celebration of South Africa.

Our love for this country is what drives everything we do, from design to production. Every garment is made locally, supporting South African makers and contributing to a stronger, more sustainable local industry.

We believe in:

  • Keeping production in South Africa.
  • Supporting local jobs and skills.
  • Creating clothing that carries real meaning.

W are excited to continue to expand our range from staples to statement pieces.

The split has allowed us to focus on our two niche brands, and give them the space they need to grow and develope in their niche.
